The short version: We collect your email and name when you join our waitlist or register investment interest. We use it to contact you about TimeBank and to understand our community. We don't sell your personal data, and you can ask us to delete everything at any time.
1. Who we are
TimeBank Academy is operated by Ciprian Petcu, based in Antwerp, Belgium. We are the data controller for personal data collected through this website. Use of the TimeBank app at app.timebank.academy is governed by the privacy terms shown inside the app.

2. What data we collect
When you interact with timebank.academy, we may collect:
- Email address — when you join the waitlist or register investment interest
- Name — first and last name, when provided voluntarily
- Skill information — what you could teach, when provided voluntarily
- Investment interest — the investment range you indicate
- Source — which part of the site you signed up from
- Timestamp — when you submitted your details
- Cookie preferences — your consent choices, stored locally
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, and pages visited if you consent to analytics cookies
We do not collect payment information, government IDs, or sensitive personal data.
3. Why we collect it (legal basis)
- Legitimate interest — to contact waitlist members about the platform launch
- Consent — for analytics cookies and marketing communications
- Pre-contractual necessity — to process investment interest registrations ahead of the SeedBlink campaign
4. How we use your data
- To send you updates about the TimeBank launch
- To notify you when the SeedBlink campaign opens
- To understand which features matter most to our community
- To improve the website based on aggregated, anonymised analytics
We do not sell your personal data. We may build aggregated, anonymised insights about how skills move between people — never tied to your identity. We don't share your personal data with third parties except as described below.
5. Who has access to your data
- Supabase (supabase.com) — our database provider, EU region (London). Processes data under a Data Processing Agreement compliant with GDPR.
- Vercel (vercel.com) — our hosting provider. May process IP addresses in server logs.
- Brevo (brevo.com) — our email provider, EU-based. Used to send waitlist communications. GDPR compliant.
- Ciprian Petcu — the founder has access to the waitlist database to manage investor and user communications.
No other parties have access to your personal data.
6. Cookies
We use the following categories of cookies:
- Necessary cookies — required for the website to function. These cannot be disabled. They include your cookie consent preferences stored in your browser.
- Analytics cookies — only set if you give consent. Used to understand how visitors use the site (pages visited, time spent). Data is anonymised and aggregated.
- Marketing cookies — only set if you give explicit consent. Currently not in use at launch.
You can withdraw cookie consent at any time by clicking "Cookie preferences" in the footer.
7. How long we keep your data
- Waitlist data is kept until the platform launches or you request deletion
- Investor interest data is kept for 24 months or until you request deletion
- Analytics data (if consented) is kept for 12 months
- After these periods, data is permanently deleted
8. Your rights under GDPR
As a resident of the EU/EEA, you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of all data we hold about you
- Rectification — correct any inaccurate data
- Erasure — request deletion of all your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Restriction — ask us to stop processing your data
- Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interest
- Withdraw consent — for any processing based on consent
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@timebank.academy. We will respond within 30 days.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (dataprotectionauthority.be).
9. Data security
Your data is stored in Supabase's EU-West (London) region with Row Level Security (RLS) enabled. All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS. Access to the database is restricted to authorised personnel only.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the platform develops. Any material changes will be communicated via email to registered waitlist members. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.
